Community Development Group’s relationship with the Town of Erie began in 1999 and the master planning of Erie Commons followed. We partnered with Erie to translate the values and design standards outlined in Erie’s Comprehensive Plan into a community that integrates economic and social needs with respect to the environment. Land within the community was donated to Erie for their recreation center, park, and town library. Also, within the community is a neighborhood retail center. Erie Commons was the first step in Erie’s transition toward a self-sustaining community, creating a new core for the Town as well as causing a revitalization of the Old Town Erie retail and commercial businesses.
